I had finally started journeling- er, blogging- on the MySpace page I had created. As cheesy as MySpace was, it did allow me to have a creative outlet. Facebook, while fun and a great way to keep in touch with family and friends from all over, has pretty much ruined the blogging experience for me. I liked having my social page and my personal venting area at the same URL. (This gets me thinking... can I link this to my FB page? Probably. Damn, I wish I was better at computer stuff!)
I just know that regular writing, even personal stories, whiny monologues, etc., really gets my creative juices flowing better. I was complaining to Bob this morning about how dry I feel, creatively. I mean, I feel more equipped to write boring commentaries on things about which people don't care than to express myself through an outflow of beautifully rhythmic words and phrases. His comment: "You are writer's block."
Hmm- I didn't think of it that way. I mean, don't you have to be a published author of multiple books to be considered "blocked" in your writing train of thought?! I haven't even left the station, for heaven's sake! Perhaps...
Either way, I am taking this opportunity to see if a little effort of my part will oil these cogs and get my creative, expressive thoughts flowing again. There may not be much depth to what I write- be forewarned. It is just one average woman's effort to be something more than mundane, forgettable, and lost in survival mode.
